Lake Hattie Residence
On Lake Hattie in Minnesota, this custom lake home is clad in vertical grain thermal pine from Arbor Wood Co.'s Natrl line. Vertical siding was part of the design from the start, and the owner and builder wanted a product that could be used without trim around the windows and doors interrupting the grain. Real wood grain gives every board its own pattern, and the boards look uniform from a distance while looking dynamic and fluid up close.

Vertical wood siding was always one of the pillars of the design of the home. It came down to finding the right product. With some education and proper direction I realized that pine could be an option and ultimately was chosen.
