English Walnut

English walnut (Juglans regia) is one of Cambium's most distinctive materials, carrying exceptional variation — light and dark tones, reds and browns, dramatic figure. It comes from California's nut orchards, where English walnut is grafted onto hardy black walnut rootstock; when the trees reach the end of their productive life, we partner with farmers to rescue and mill them rather than see them cleared. Many boards show a visible graft line where rootstock meets trunk, producing color and pattern found in no other wood. Milled in 4/4 and 5/4 lumber, it's behind Room & Board's Graft Series and suited to furniture, flooring, and accent walls.
