Madrone

Pacific madrone is a dense, fine-grained hardwood with coloring that runs from cream through rosy blush to burnt sienna, unlike anything from eastern forests. As flooring it's smooth, hard-ok wearing, and genuinely distinctive. Like all Zena flooring, madrone is made as EdgeGrain: solid wood tiles built from ¾" strips rather than wide planks, assembled without glue and using more of every tree. It's seldom milled into flooring, so Zena's, sourced from Western Oregon, is a genuine find.
