Connecting demand to the forest and sawmill floors

Our supply team has spent their careers in forest products, and material already moves through our network of 220+ mills and supply partners across the country. We start with building a relationship, then we find the right opportunities to match your capacity, then we work together to develop new programs.

How to work with us

Build a relationship

Understand your mill, fiber, products, capacity and goals.

The first step is a conversation about your operation. What you share is your call. We start by learning your mill: species mix, grades, capacity, and where you're selling today. The better we understand your products, the better we can match to demand.

Find the right opportunities

As demand develops, identify opportunities that match what you already do or could realistically do.

Cambium's goal is to connect more demand directly to the sawmill floor. We work with buyers across the country to specify and procure by species, grade, and origin. The more we understand your business, we can work together to create and capture opportunities when the right demand exists.

Develop programs together

Over time, use our relationship, market visibility, and customer demand to develop new opportunities.

After we've worked with each other and built a relationship, we can unlock more species, products, outlets, and supply chains together.

A worker walking between rows of logs at Parton Lumber's yard

Parton Lumber · North Carolina

Scaling underutilized material

When Hurricane Helene put Southern Yellow Pine on the ground across western North Carolina, Parton Lumber had the capacity to run it, but they had shifted from softwoods years earlier. Cambium brought committed demand first, and with an outlet in place, Parton restarted the line and turned storm salvage into profitable throughput.

Fritch Mill · Washington

Quickly entering the Cambium supply ecosystem

The Cambium Supply team met Fritch Mill in Washington in August. After a month of learning more about their mill, fiber, products, capacity and goals, Cambium placed its first trial load of salvaged Western Hemlock & White Fir with the goal of scaling to recurring orders. By quickly understanding Fritch's species mix and capacity, we were able to more effectively match it to new demand.

Patrick Lumber · Oregon

Connecting regional materials to the market

Cambium has worked with Patrick Lumber in Oregon for years with their salvaged Cedar and Doug Fir programs. From that relationship, we have connected their salvaged Oregon White Oak and Alder to a national butcherblock countertop product with Lowes.com, expanding awareness for underutilized regional species.
