Juniper
A rugged Western softwood with wild, characterful grain.
Western juniper is unlike any other floor: swirling grain, pronounced knots, warm amber tones, and the natural oils that made it a fence-post standard for a century. It also survives on less water than any other Oregon tree. Like all Zena flooring, juniper is made as EdgeGrain: solid wood tiles built from ¾" strips rather than wide planks, assembled without glue and using more of every tree. Its story is genuinely restorative: without fire to check it, juniper has spread into a nuisance, crowding out the sagebrush habitat the endangered Sage Grouse depends on. Zena sources its juniper from sagebrush restoration efforts, turning that removal into flooring.
