American cherry (Prunus serotina) has been a furniture and cabinet favorite for generations: smooth, fine grain, easy machining, and a warm reddish-brown color. It's photosensitive, so boards darken as they meet daylight, so any early color differences even out to a rich, uniform patina within weeks. Salvaged from American cities and milled as a furniture wood, our cherry carries the occasional bug hole from its urban life, which we treat as character rather than defect.
