X-Ray Lasers of various kinds have been in use in the Coalition for a hundred years. Firing concentrated beams of X-Ray light, the lasers are primarily used for anti-fighter and anti-missile defenses on starships and space installations. In the last 40 years, they have steadily been replaced by Pulse variety X-Ray lasers. It can sustain a beam of up to 200 gigawatts for a period of five seconds.
