Pulse X-Ray Lasers are the newest brand of point-defense weapon, introduced within the decade before the war. Instead of firing a steady beam, they fire laser pulses every .5 seconds, allowing for easier tracking, longer duration of fire, and better heat dissipation. The most powerful pulse lasers have a per-burst power rating of 50 gigajoules.
