The Lawrence Drive, or HoleDrive for short, is a device that creates "tunnels" in space that allow for interstellar transits. The complicated physics were first postulated by Doctor Sir James Lawrence, a noted scientist and humanitarian of the 21st Century. He developed the process in time for the Exodus Project. Numerous other alien races use their own versions of HoleDrive, either received from humanity or developed by their own physicists.
