The Growler was first commissioned in 2445, two years after the beginning of the war with the League of Sol. Its hull is made of stealth material, like most ships of it's class, and it has an effective cruising range of 10,000 light years before it requires resupply. This allows it to prowl deep within enemy space on the hunt for transport ships.
Armament is focused on the bow-mounted missile tubes and their missiles (sometimes called torpedoes by their crews out of respect for their submariner ancestors) which are fired from a distance close enough to hit slow-moving transports with ease while not exposing the ship to unnecessary danger. For emergencies, a pair of Neutron Cannons are mounted on the bow and a Particle Cannon on the aft. A single Energy Deflector generator provides defense. Two Ion Pulse Thrust Engines provide acceleration of up to 300 Gs, though only up to a third of that is possible while in stealth mode.
